why did my computer just overheat?

my computer just overheated today at 5:30 pm when it was about 75 degrees inside. my computer has not overheated for two years. when it did we had just gotten a new graphics card. it over heated because it couldn’t keep it cool. so we got a new fan for it. it overheated and i don’t know why. i though tht i had fixed this problem. could there be a new one. i did just add another hard drive. but that was a month ago.

I faced same overheating problem in my DELL inspiron 1525. Actually your ‘thermistor’ , which is on motherboard , is damaged. There are 2 or more thermistor on motherboard. You have to check the voltage through every one and have to replace one or more. I would suggest you to go to a laptop hardware repairing shop and get the thermistor changed. I have to pay $22 for this and now my laptop is working fine.
